We invite you to join us in celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of Paul Robeson on May 25th from 5:30 PM-8:30 PM (doors open at 5 PM for reception) at the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center. This event will celebrate Paul Robeson's immense spirit of sacrifice for the cause of freedom for all darker humanity, dignity for working classes, and peace across the world. We believe that Robeson's legacy and ideas have great value for the American people at this time because they provide a vision for an alternative America that prioritizes peace with justice over war. The event will consist of a screening of his speeches followed by a panel discussion with leaders who live in Robeson's legacy and musical performances of Robeson's works.
Confirmed speakers include Minister Ishmael Muhammad of the Nation of Islam, Dr. Anthony Monteiro of the Saturday Free School in Philadelphia, and Perry Diggs of the DuSable Museum |
