Science & revolutionA two-day symposium celebrating 50 years of Henry Winston's Strategy for a Black Agenda November 11-12, 2023 |
U.S. imperialism and its Zionist puppets have brought humanity close to a Third World War. The Palestinian people and their martyrs—men, women, children, and the elderly—are contributing mightily to the dual projects of anti-colonial and anti-white supremacist liberation, and of world peace. These are unprecedented times. Tectonic shifts in the movements of humanity are unfolding in front of our eyes. The negative peace of a unipolar neocolonial world order led by the West, a Pax Americana, as it were, which our generation became adjusted to, is becoming a thing of the past. President Biden’s most recent speech to the Congress has called for financing war, not only against Russia, but also the Palestinian people and the broader Middle East, including Iran, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. His speech promised future wars against China and North Korea. The ruling elite have lifted the veil, revealing that their only agenda is war. Whatever moral legitimacy they had in the world, has crumbled. The overwhelming majority of the world’s people categorically reject their war agenda, choosing to break away from their web of political, economic, and ideological control.

The Saturday Free School invites you to join us in this two-day symposium on ‘Science and Revolution’ celebrating 50 years of the publication of Henry Winston’s Strategy for a Black Agenda.
At a time of intense domestic and global political crisis, with the world breaking away from the logic of US imperialism and war agenda, the ruling class is desperate to maintain its legitimacy through new forms of ideological offensive against the American people. Henry Winston’s life, legacy and thought take profound importance in today’s struggle for peace and democracy, to create a strategy for the future.
Featuring a documentary screening, panel presentations and roundtable discussions, this symposium will study and develop the science that Winston deploys to understand and guide the revolutionary process in America.
As part of the symposium, we will also launch Avant-Garde : a Journal of Peace, Democracy and Science, a journal for our times, which insists that science, art and history are means for liberation that belong to the people. The first issue of this journal will be dedicated to Henry Winston.
Lunch will be provided on Saturday, and dinner on Sunday.
